Aqua Signal Series 75 - Arctic - Starboard
Description
Aqua Signal’s Series 75 are LED navigation lights for vessels ≥ 20m in length. Long product lifetime has been an essential priority when designing this product family of marine lanterns. A smart, tamper-proof countdown system also gives the user an indication when it’s time to replace the lanterns. Even at an ambient temperature of 45°C, the lifetime is 100,000 hours (Main or Spare).
Series 75 is available in Single version (Series 75), Double version (Series 75D), Single Arctic version (Series 75 Arctic), and Double Arctic version (Series 75D Arctic). Arctic versions are intended for use in low-temperature areas and include a heating foil on the inside of the glass lens.
Long Product Lifetime
The Series 75 is designed to last for 100,000 hours at an ambient temperature of 45°C — twice the lifetime of most competing products. To achieve this level of longevity, the design is built to be sturdy, with all components made from high-quality materials. This includes a premium LED driver, advanced driver technology, and durable materials such as seawater-resistant aluminium, polycarbonate, and hardened tempered borosilicate glass.
The system lifetime of the LED light source and driver is approximately 11 years under continuous operation, running 24 hours a day at an ambient temperature of 45°C.
Integrated Countdown System
Having a lantern reach end-of-life or fail while at sea is a risk no vessel operator wants to face. That is why the Series 75 is equipped with an integrated countdown system that alerts users when it is time to replace the navigation light.
To make the system tamper-proof, the timer is built directly into each lantern, while the message is communicated and displayed through the control panel. The system reflects actual lantern usage, taking into account exposure to cold temperatures, harsh weather, and other operating conditions. This provides added safety for the vessel.
Excellent EMC Characteristics
The Series 75 offers excellent EMC characteristics and complies with DNV-GL EMC Class B (bridge open deck). There are strict electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) requirements for lanterns installed close to VHF antennas. The Series 75 lanterns feature very low emission levels and have been tested to comply with the emission and immunity requirements of IEC 60945.
A Flexible Choice
Series 75 is designed to work with the Aqua Signal Navigation Light Control Panel, while also offering flexibility to operate with third-party panels (compatibility must be confirmed by the control panel supplier).
For vessels above 20 meters, a dual installation is required for masthead, starboard, port, and stern lights in order to comply with COLREG requirements.
The products are easy to install, requiring only four bolts for fastening. The internal connection box also provides ample space for connection wires. All variants can be installed upside-down, except for Port, Starboard, and Masthead models due to COLREG visibility angle requirements.
